History of Veg Noodle/Chow Mein

The history of Veg Noodles traces back to ancient China, where their creation is attributed to various dynasties. Originally known as ‘lamian,’ these hand-pulled noodles gained popularity during the Tang Dynasty. As Chinese immigrants brought their culinary expertise across borders, Veg Noodles evolved, adapting to local palates and ingredients.

In India, the inception of Veg Noodles and Chow Mein can be traced back to the captivating influence of Hakka Chinese cuisine. This culinary fusion witnessed the marriage of aromatic Indian spices with the versatility of noodles, birthing a cherished street food staple. The amalgamation of the two, often interchangeable, has become a culinary delight enjoyed across the country.
