Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Black pepper
  • ½ cup finely chopped carrot
  • ½ cup finely chopped cabbage
  • ½ cup finely chopped spring onion
  • ½ cup finely chopped onion
  • ¼ cup French beans
  • ½ cup capsicum
  • ½ tbsp chopped garlic
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce

How to prepare dough for momos

  • Take 1 cup whole wheat flour (maida), ¼ tbsp salt and ½ tbsp oil in a bowl.
  • Mix well with a spoon.
  • Add 2 to 3 tbsp water in parts and begin to knead to a firm dough.
  • Do not make the soft dough as then it becomes difficult to shape the momos.
  • Cover the dough with a kitchen cloth.
  • Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.

How to prepare momos’ stuffing

  • You have to finely chop vegetable capsicum, french beans, cabbage, carrot and garlic.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a deep fry pan or a wok.
  • Add ½ tbsp garlic finely chopped.
  • Saute for 5-10 seconds on low flame.
  • Add spring onion whites Stir and sauté for 10 to 15 seconds on medium-low flame.
  • Add all the chopped vegetables.
  • Increase the flame and stir fry the vegetables on a medium to high heat. If you have not used a thick-bottomed pan, then sauté the veggies on low to medium heat.
  • Now ½ tbsp soy sauce and salt to taste and ½ tbsp of black pepper.
  • Stir and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Now turn off the flame and add green onion.
  • Your stuffing is ready now check the salt and taste to add more spices.

How to make momos

  • Divide the kneaded dough into two parts and start making small balls of dough.
  • Take each dough ball and dust the rolling board with some flour.
  • Roll each dough ball into a thin circle.
  • Keep the edges thin and centre thick..
  • Apply a little water with a finger tip on the edges of rolled dough circle.
  • Now place 1 to 2 tbsp of stuffing.
  • Now lift the edges of the dough and start making a bag or pouch structure like this:
  • Now heat the steamer pan and add 2 cups of water to it,
  • When the steamer pan starts to evaporate water place your momos inside it and and close the lid.
  • Let them cook for 5-6 minutes.
  • Cook only till the upper layer becomes transparent.
  • Do not overcook as they can become chewy.
  • Now take out your momos and serve.

Kudos!!! Your mouth-watering momos are now ready to serve.

    Notes

    Do not make momos covering thick.
